Bridgeway Family Homes is seeking a highly skilled Family Support Specialist to support families, children, youth, and young adults who are experiencing social, emotional, behavioral, and academic challenges.

About the Role

As a Family Support Specialist, you will be part of a collaborative professional team that provides services in Foster Homes and the community. You will work independently as an independent contractor, providing goal-focused services to families and individuals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with the collaborative team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Goal-Focused Services: Provide scheduled, goal-focused services to families and individuals, including developing and implementing goal-focused activities.
  • Case Management: Manage case notes, reports, and other administrative tasks to ensure accurate and timely documentation.
  • Transportation: Transport children and youth while providing services, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Qualifications
  • Certificate or Degree: Hold a certificate, diploma, or degree in Child and Youth Care Practitioner from a recognized college or university.
  • Experience: Have 2-5 years of experience providing services to children, youth, and families with critical needs.
  • Certifications: Possess current Verbal De-escalation Certification and CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Have knowledge of FASD, ODD, autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and other diagnoses, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational, administrative, and report-writing skills.
Requirements
  • Criminal Record Check: Hold a current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Child Welfare Record Check: Possess a current Child Welfare Record Check.
  • Driver's License: Hold a valid Class 'G' Driver's License and have access to an insured vehicle with $2 million liability insurance.
