Key Responsibilities:
  • Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with our collaborative professional team to provide services in Foster Homes and the community.
  • Goal-Focused Services: Provide scheduled services to families and individuals, developing goal-focused activities to support their needs.
  • Case Management: Develop and maintain accurate case notes, reports, and other administrative tasks.
  • Transportation: Safely transport children and youth while providing services.
Requirements:
  • Certifications: Certificate, diploma, or degree in Child and Youth Care Practitioner from a recognized college or university.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of experience providing services to children, youth, and families with critical needs.
  • Certifications: Current Verbal De-escalation Certification (e.g., CIT, NCI, TCI, UMAB) with experience in crisis prevention.
  • First Aid and CPR: Current CPR/First Aid certification.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of FASD, ODD, autism, ADHD, anxiety disorders, and other diagnoses is an asset. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational, administrative, and report-writing skills.
Additional Requirements:
  • Criminal Record Check: Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check (obtained from local Police).
  • Child Welfare Record Check: Current Child Welfare Record Check (obtained from local Children's Aid Society).
  • Driver's License: Driver's Abstract, Class "G" Driver's License.
  • Vehicle Insurance: Access to an insured vehicle with $2 million liability insurance.
