Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineering Liaison Specialist to join our team at General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada. As a key member of our manufacturing team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient production of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide Weld and Fabrication Support: Collaborate with shop floor colleagues and supervisors to resolve production issues and ensure smooth manufacturing processes.
  2. Participate in Start of Shift Meetings: Share updates on changes in work instructions, new material, and other relevant information to ensure a productive start to the shift.
  3. Disposition Discrepant Material: Identify and resolve issues with discrepant material, coordinate Material Review Board processes, and manage deviations.
  4. Develop and Report on Audits: Conduct audits, material reviews, deviations, material purges, weld rework packages, and Interim Repair Authorizations to ensure compliance and quality.
  5. Provide Technical Document Control Support: Ensure accurate and up-to-date technical documentation for both hard copy and electronic work instructions.
  6. Support DMC Process Centers: Collaborate with production teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
  7. Facilitate Problem Resolution: Work with manufacturing and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
  8. Collect Data for Root Cause Analysis: Gather data to support Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action performed by Manufacturing Engineering Development and Integration Leads.
  9. Support Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with production teams to develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  10. Support Initial Start-up Production Processes: Assist with the development and implementation of initial start-up production processes.
  11. Monitor Process Effectiveness: Track and record issues in Maximo tooling database to ensure process effectiveness.
  12. Support Multi-Shift Production Operations: Collaborate with production teams to ensure smooth operation of multi-shift production.
Requirements
  1. Education: University Degree or College diploma in Weld/Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering, or Skilled Trades License with 3+ years equivalent experience.
  2. Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience as a Manufacturing Engineering Technologist for a heavy equipment manufacturer.
  3. Skills: Goal-oriented with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  4. Physical Requirements: Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Restrictions for confined space.
  5. Travel: Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (5% Int'l) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport.
