About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Insurance Underwriter to join our team at Mandeep S. Dandiwal Insurance & Financial Services Inc. As an Insurance Underwriter, you will play a critical role in assessing and managing risk for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and Evaluate Insurance Applications

You will be responsible for reviewing individual and group applications for insurance, evaluating new and renewal applications to determine insurance risks, insurance premiums, extent of coverage, and other conditions.

Use Medical Reports and Rate Tables

You will use medical reports, rate tables, and other documents to determine coverage and make informed decisions about insurance policies.

Approve Insurance Policies

You will approve the sale of insurance policies, ensuring that they meet the needs of our clients and comply with government regulations.

Ensure Compliance and Provide Recommendations

You will ensure compliance with government regulations and provide recommendations on individual or group insurance plan designs.

Provide Underwriting Advice and Support

You will provide underwriting advice and support to clients and other company personnel, answering inquiries and preparing underwriting reports.

Requirements
  • Provincial or Territorial Licence

You must hold a provincial or territorial licence to practice as an Insurance Underwriter.

Insurance Experience

You must have experience in liability insurance, business risk insurance, automobile insurance, fire insurance, health insurance, life insurance products, and property insurance.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure, with tight deadlines, and with attention to detail.

Personal Suitability

You must possess accurate, client-focused, dependable, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, initiative, judgement, organized, reliability, team player, and flexibility.

Experience

You must have 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
