Kinectrics is actively involved in the development and implementation of new nuclear power facilities and the life extension of existing plants. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing mechanical systems and components for both traditional and innovative nuclear applications. This position involves collaboration within a multidisciplinary engineering team, primarily supporting design initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development of conceptual and detailed equipment designs through a structured design process.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
  • Conduct mechanical engineering analyses and reactor core evaluations.
  • Collaborate with construction and procurement partners, ensuring effective solutions throughout the design project lifecycle.
  • Offer field support for multi-disciplinary plant design modifications.
  • Assess client challenges and determine suitable solutions.
  • Perform technical evaluations and troubleshooting to support refurbishment and capital projects.
  • Engage effectively with team members on interdisciplinary projects.
  • Stay updated on advancements in the field.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Nuclear Engineering (or equivalent) is required.
  • 8+ years of relevant nuclear experience is essential.
  • Experience with nuclear safety and licensing is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including CSA N285 and ASME, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Nuclear Quality Assurance Standards is beneficial.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to build trust with stakeholders are crucial.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies is required.
  • Candidates should be pursuing or have attained the P.Eng. designation.
  • Current Nuclear Security Clearance is an asset.
