You hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, and may possess an advanced degree in similar disciplines. With a minimum of 8 years of experience in an engineering capacity, you are registered for a Professional Engineering License (P.   • Expertise in the design, analysis, and qualification of Structures, Systems, and Components.
  • Proficient in system engineering and design review methodologies.
  • Knowledgeable in manufacturing and constructability practices.
  • Capable of supporting design and constructability review sessions.
  • Familiar with CSA N285.0, CSA B51, CSA N299/Z299, ASME BPVC standards.
  • Understanding of CSA S16, CSA N289, National Building Code of Canada, ASME B30.20.
  • Experienced with engineering software tools such as ANSYS, AutoPIPE, AutoCAD, Solid Works, and MicroShield.
  • Skilled in preparing and/or conducting critical peer reviews of various engineering calculations and reports.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with colleagues and clients.
  • Familiar with OPG ECC and adept at navigating asset management systems.
  • Detail-oriented, with the ability to engage in professional discussions, reason effectively, and demonstrate technical expertise with colleagues, supervisors, and clients.
  • Collaborative with senior engineers and other disciplines.
  • Responsive to changing demands.
  • Willing to self-reflect and adjust during various design phases to overcome challenges and meet project quality and deadlines.
  • Committed to executing work with high safety and quality standards.

Your Role

This full-time position is focused on making a significant impact on people's lives and the future of clean energy. You will utilize your skills and experience as part of an innovative team to benefit our customers. As a Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will be an integral part of the established team in the Installed Base Business Unit. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Executing standard engineering tasks typically in areas of design, development, analysis, evaluation, testing, specification preparation, field task execution, and problem resolution.
  • Conducting field visits to support the development of engineering work.
  • Collaborating with clients to ensure that identified solutions meet their needs.
  • Delivering engineering outputs to support plant lifetime operations, including design, construction, testing, commissioning, operations, and maintenance.

This role may require up to 25% travel. Together, we will enable clean, safe, and economical low-carbon energy to fulfill the global ambition for a better tomorrow.
