About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Tetra Tech. As an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for performing a variety of mechanical engineering assignments, working with a team of skilled engineers, designers, procurement and construction professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and lead mechanical engineering assignments, requiring general familiarity with a broad field of engineering and knowledge of reciprocal effects of the work upon other disciplines/fields;
  • Solve complex problems by use of combinations of standard and modified standard procedures, or methods developed in previous assignments;
  • Participate in planning required to achieve prescribed objectives;
  • Supervise large groups of professionals and non-professionals or small groups of specialized engineers or as a highly specialized maintenance/technical engineer in servicing heavy industrial clients in the Nuclear Sector;
Requirements
  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is preferred;
  • Registered or eligible to register with the PEO as a P.ENG;
  • 8+ years of working experience in design, process, maintenance engineering and engineering management within in the Nuclear, Power, or Industrial Facilities is considered an asset;
  • Previous Nuclear Mechanical Maintenance and/or Consulting Engineering experience is considered as asset;
  • Experience in communicating with other design disciplines and having an appreciation for the impact of their designs on other design disciplines is an asset;
  • Must have strong computer oriented skills (familiarity with Autocad, MS Office, Numerical Methods Solutions.);
  • Working experience in principles and practices of nuclear engineering as applied to design and construction of projects is preferred;
  • Coaching, professional service management, communication and interpersonal skills are essential;
  • Experienced in the use of MS Office suite including Word, Excel, Powerpoint;
  • Effective communication, organization and presentation skills;
  • Must be able to receive Security Clearance;
