Kinectrics supports the development and deployment of new nuclear power plants and oversees life extension projects for existing facilities. As part of our expanding design team, the successful candidate will focus on mechanical systems and components design, engaging in both traditional nuclear projects and innovative initiatives. This role will involve collaboration within a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
Key Responsibilities- Guide the development of conceptual and detailed equipment designs through a structured design process.
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineering team members.
- Conduct mechanical engineering analyses and reactor core evaluations.
- Collaborate with construction and procurement partners, ensuring effective solutions throughout the design project lifecycle.
- Support field engineering for multi-disciplinary plant design modifications.
- Assess client challenges and determine appropriate solutions.
- Conduct technical evaluations and troubleshooting to support refurbishment and capital projects.
- Work effectively with colleagues on multi-disciplinary projects.
- Stay updated on advancements in your area of expertise.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or Nuclear Engineering (or equivalent) is required.
- 8+ years of relevant nuclear experience is essential.
- Experience with nuclear safety and licensing is advantageous.
- Knowledge of relevant codes and standards, including CSA N285 and ASME, is preferred.
- Familiarity with Nuclear Quality Assurance Standards is beneficial.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to build trust with stakeholders are crucial.
- Experience in project management methodologies is necessary.
- Current Nuclear Security Clearance is an asset.
