Department Overview

Academic Management Systems operates within the IT Services department, providing essential systems and support for daily business operations across various faculties.

Our team comprises business analysts and application developers who embrace an agile mindset, focusing on delivering value to enhance the SFU experience for our staff and faculty through the development of modern IT systems.

Position Overview

This role will spearhead the transition team responsible for the comprehensive migration of business processes for three faculties into an enterprise solution.

As the product owner for this significant transition, you will lead the team in conducting fit-gap analyses, integration assessments, and ensuring a seamless migration of all business processes into the new enterprise solution. This includes ensuring that staff receive adequate training and that integrations function smoothly.

Your leadership will be crucial in guiding the transition team through an agile, iterative approach, delivering changes incrementally and ensuring that each step contributes to the overall success of the migration.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A proven track record of working in an agile environment.
  • The ability to adapt swiftly, prioritize tasks effectively, and deliver high-quality results in a dynamic setting.
  • Expertise in agile methodologies to foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and efficiency.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, HR Management, or a related field, along with eight years of relevant experience as a Business Systems Analyst working with enterprise applications.

Strong business analysis skills are essential, with a demonstrated ability to conduct complex business and systems process analysis and design to ensure solutions align with long-term business strategies.

Additionally, strong project management skills with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks effectively are required.
