Position Overview
The Business Analyst – ERP will collaborate across various departments including Commercial, Supply Chain Management, Program Delivery, and Finance to enhance and drive continuous improvement initiatives related to our Epicor ERP software platform. This role is essential for optimizing systems, developing processes, managing projects, overseeing inventory, and performing data analytics. The primary responsibilities include interpreting stakeholder needs, refining ERP workflows, standardizing system usage, establishing user training programs, conducting cost-benefit analyses for customization requests, and executing ERP system modifications while analyzing data to support critical decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Planning
- Conduct thorough research on ERP implementation challenges, identify root causes, and devise practical solutions.
- Utilize project management tools to create detailed task schedules and monitor work progress.
- Adjust project efforts as necessary to ensure timely and budget-compliant completion.
System Administration and Analytics
- Serve as the subject matter expert for all ERP system modules.
- Analyze business needs and system functionality to propose enhancements.
- Collaborate with IT to implement increased ERP capabilities and modifications.
- Design and execute customizations, workflows, and dashboards aligned with business requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to ERP modules.
- Develop user-friendly functionalities and interfaces.
- Stay informed about the latest ERP updates and features.
- Extract and analyze data to summarize trends and identify areas of concern.
- Present complex data in an easily digestible format for management teams.
- Utilize Excel and PowerBI for data analysis and reporting.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to sales orders, inventory, labor, and billing.
- Translate data insights into actionable narratives.
Governance
- Transform strategic objectives into governance and process documentation.
- Analyze inputs from various sources to standardize and document processes.
- Create detailed process maps and standard operating procedures.
- Develop and deliver training on system upgrades and new processes.
Qualifications
- A post-secondary degree in a relevant field such as computer science or a combination of education and experience in systems administration, business analytics, and process development.
- ERP certification, particularly in Epicor, is advantageous.
- Extensive knowledge of ERP development tools, coding languages, and business processes.
- Strong understanding of system administration and business analytics best practices.
- Proficient in ERP/MRP systems, especially Epicor, and Excel.
- Ability to process and report on large datasets effectively.
- Experience in critical thinking and problem-solving.
- Capacity to work independently and prioritize tasks.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build collaborative relationships.
