Job Summary

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a qualified sessional faculty member to teach ECED 1300: Practicum 2 – Program Planning for Young Children in Lillooet, British Columbia.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach one or two sections of ECED 1300: Practicum 2
  • Develop and implement innovative educational programs for young children
  • Support and evaluate student progress in on-site and community-based practica
  • Liaise with community educators regarding student progress
  • Integrate Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods into course content
  • Build student capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect
  • Develop culturally appropriate curricula
Requirements
  • Relevant successful teaching experience in early childhood education programs for 3–5-year-olds
  • Demonstrated knowledge of pedagogical narrations and innovative programs for young children
  • Demonstrated expertise in the course topic areas
  • Demonstrated experience in integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods
  • Proven skills in building student capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect
  • Teaching excellence, including developing culturally appropriate curricula
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • A Master of Education or equivalent in a relevant field (preferred)
