Thompson Rivers University is seeking a qualified sessional faculty member to teach mathematics courses, specifically MATH 0400 and MATH 0550. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing learning materials and delivering lectures to students in a multi-level class.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver instructional content for MATH 0400 and MATH 0550, including lesson plans and assessments.
- Teach lectures and provide guidance to students in a classroom setting.
- Prepare and administer exams and assessments to evaluate student learning.
- Provide feedback to students on their performance and progress.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum.
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as mathematics or education.
- Teaching experience, preferably in a post-secondary setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with diverse student populations.
- Ability to develop and deliver culturally relevant and inclusive instructional content.
- Experience with curriculum development and implementation.
- Teaching Certificate or Instructor's Diploma.
- Experience teaching students with diverse educational, social, and economic backgrounds.
- Skills in building intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect.
- Experience integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods.
