Job Summary

Thompson Rivers University is seeking a qualified sessional faculty member to teach mathematics courses, specifically MATH 0400 and MATH 0550. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing learning materials and delivering lectures to a multi-level class of students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver instructional content for MATH 0400 and MATH 0550 courses
  • Prepare and grade assignments, quizzes, and exams
  • Provide individualized support to students as needed
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of mathematics programs
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in mathematics or a related field
  • Teaching experience, preferably in a post-secondary setting
  • Ability to work with students from diverse backgrounds and learning styles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with curriculum development and implementation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field
  • Experience teaching mathematics courses at the post-secondary level
  • Knowledge of Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods
  • Experience with culturally appropriate curricula development
