About The Role

At The Salvation Army, we are dedicated to providing support and resources to newcomers integrating into our community. As a Settlement Caseworker, you will play a vital role in guiding individuals through the settlement process, ensuring they have access to essential information and services.

Your Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive guidance to clients navigating the settlement process, assisting them with understanding their rights and responsibilities.
  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine client eligibility for various programs and services tailored to their needs.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, documenting client interactions, progress, and any challenges encountered.
  • Develop and implement individualized case management plans, collaborating with clients to set goals and track their achievements.
  • Foster a safe and supportive environment for clients, addressing concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Participate in training sessions and events to enhance your knowledge and skills in serving newcomers.

Program Delivery and Outreach

You will also contribute to the development and delivery of settlement programs, coordinating activities and hosting community events that promote integration and cultural understanding. Your outreach efforts will involve connecting with clients directly, assessing their needs, and developing innovative solutions to address them.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Possess a strong commitment to The Salvation Army's mission of serving vulnerable populations.
  • Hold a post-secondary degree or equivalent experience in social work, community development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse individuals from various cultural backgrounds.
  • Exhibit strong organizational and time management abilities, effectively prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and possess a working knowledge of settlement and community resources.
