We are seeking a highly skilled Language Specialist to join our team at the CLHIA. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our written materials are accurate, clear, and accessible to all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Translate a wide range of documents, including submissions, industry guidelines, consumer guides, reports, and surveys, from English to French, ensuring quality, clarity, and proper style.
- Coordinate the day-to-day workflow of the translation service, receiving, triaging, and assigning requests from internal clients.
- Act as the primary point of contact for external translation services, following up on requests and receiving invoices, checking for accuracy, and routing for approval and payment.
- Conduct terminology research, clarify meaning with original authors or stakeholders, and revise translations prepared by other translators to ensure accuracy.
- Contribute to the Translation Services databank and provide background context for external translation services.
- University degree in a related field with 2-5 years of related experience.
- Bilingual (English/French) and certification from an association of professional translators.
- Strong understanding of life and health insurance terminology and business operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and SharePoint.
