Job Title: APTPUO - TRA4975 A Introduction to the Theory of Translation - Winter 2025

Description:

The University of Ottawa is seeking a highly qualified individual to teach a course on the theory of translation. The successful candidate will have a PhD in Translation Studies and a solid portfolio of theory-based research. They will be responsible for teaching Comparative Stylistics and Translation Theories, as well as evaluating student work in English and French.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach a course on the theory of translation
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that aligns with the University's standards
  • Evaluate student work and provide feedback
  • Contribute to the development of the Translation Studies program

Requirements:

  • PhD in Translation Studies
  • Solid portfolio of theory-based research
  • Broad knowledge of theories in Translation Studies and related fields
  • Demonstrated ability to connect theories and practice
  • Experience in teaching Comparative Stylistics and Translation Theories
  • Ability to evaluate student work in English and French
