Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, and providing excellent customer service to internal clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet business needs
- Manage the procurement process from initiation to contract award, including sourcing, evaluation, and negotiation
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Provide excellent customer service to internal clients, including responding to inquiries and resolving issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication and coordination
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field
- Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in procurement or a related field
- Formal training and/or demonstrated experience in relationship management, conflict resolution, and negotiation
- Knowledge and understanding of contract law, procurement practices, and processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications:
- SCMA Certification or enrollment in a Supply Chain Diploma program
- Technical background or demonstrated understanding of design/construction, and IT Services contracts
- Knowledge and experience with a variety of Quality Assurance programs
- Knowledge of nuclear quality assurance programs
