Reporting to the District Manager, this role will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing waste transfer, receiving, and processing activities. The successful candidate will also support effective communications, staff engagement, and participation, as well as ensure a safe working environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Oversee and manage all plant operations
* Ensure cooperation and communication between departments
* Assess and develop programs to correct operational inefficiencies
* Support existing Key Performance Indicators
* Assist in planning and scheduling of work for all facility operations
* Ensure site compliance with ECA's and CBA
* Ensure accuracy of the facility's inventory management system
* Ensure site compliance with regulatory body governing requirements
* Work with sales and call centre for customer inquiries
* Assist direct reports to improve technical knowledge and capabilities
* Develop and implement programs and procedures for packaging, treatment, storage, transportation, and disposal of wastes
* Attend facility audits as required
* Support Budget/forecasting as required
* Oversee and support facility's Administration staff

**Health & Safety Responsibilities:**

* Support and ensure all H&S policies and procedures are adhered to
* Support Training & orientation of new employees
* Assist in employee conflict/issue resolution
* Assist in reporting and investigating near misses/incidents/accidents
* Assist in implementation of corrective action as the result of incidents

**Requirements:**

* Post-secondary education (College Diploma or University Education)
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in the environmental waste management industry
* Working knowledge of TDGA, O. Reg. 347 and Ontario Health and Safety Act
* Competent computer skills (MS Windows and Office)
* Effective verbal and written communicator
* Motivated, able to multi-task, and work effectively in a team environment
* Safety conscious and detail oriented
* Organizational and people management skills in a large team environment
* Ability to design and execute work & project plans
* Valid G License with good driver abstract/CVOR abstract
* Offers of employment are conditional upon successful completion of required medical, physical, drug and alcohol testing
