Food Service Supervisor

We are seeking a skilled Food Service Supervisor to join our team at Interior Health Authority. As a Food Service Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and wellbeing of our patients, visitors, and staff.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have a diploma from a recognized two-year Food Service and Nutrition Management program and a minimum of 1 year recent experience. You will be responsible for supervising designated staff, planning menus, estimating food requirements, and monitoring expenditures.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise and coordinate the work of food service staff, ensuring high-quality meal preparation and service.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Dietician to develop menus and recipes that meet the nutritional and therapeutic needs of patients and residents.
- Manage food supplies, resolve discrepancies with suppliers, and ensure accurate inventory management.
- Visit patients and residents to obtain and exchange diet-related information, ensuring their needs are met.
- Monitor and control expenditures for assigned areas, making recommendations for budget allocations and resolving discrepancies.
- Evaluate meal quality and quantity, ensuring established standards are maintained.
- Coordinate meal preparation, pricing, and other related duties for community-based services such as Meals on Wheels.
- Assist in maintaining facility in-house services, including cafeteria operations, pricing, and staffing.
- Perform audits to ensure compliance with food service and quality assurance standards.
