Zymeworks is seeking a highly skilled Associate Scientist to join our In Vitro Biology team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and executing in vitro pharmacology experiments to support the development of novel technologies for ADCs.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement novel in vitro assays to profile the mechanism of action of ADCs.
- Characterize small molecules, antibodies, bioconjugates, or ADCs using various cell-based assays and techniques.
- Lead and execute novel assay development initiatives to support pipeline project advancement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate execution of decision-making experiments for different projects.
- Prepare and disseminate data presentations for group meetings, summarizing results and next steps.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and scientific/technical guidance to junior staff.
- Support mammalian tissue culture activities within the group.
- May co-author or author scientific papers, conference disclosures, patents, and/or regulatory documents.
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry with a minimum 1-2 years' relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
- Demonstrated experience with cell-based or biochemical assay development.
- Demonstrated understanding of in vitro cancer models and therapeutic mechanisms of actions.
- Experience with characterization and analysis of biotherapeutics (small molecules, antibodies, Fc-fusion proteins, ADCs or other immunoconjugates) is an asset.
- Experience with high-throughput screening assays and workflows is an asset.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize work, allocate resources, and deliver on deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict confidentiality on matters that require discretion.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, work effectively in a fast-paced, fast-changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a cross-functional team.
- Excellent communication skills, including scientific/technical writing and oral skills.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentorship skills.
- Results-oriented.
Zymeworks offers a comprehensive total rewards package, including competitive salaries, generous benefits, an outstanding work environment, and excellent opportunities for professional growth. The Canadian base salary range for this full-time position is $86,000 - $110,000 + bonus + equity + benefits.
