Research Scientist - Computational Structural Biology

AbCellera is a cutting-edge biotech company that discovers and develops antibody-based medicines. We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to join our team and contribute to our innovative research in computational structural biology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and evaluate in-silico protein engineering activities to support our developing platform for antibody reformatting processes and optimization of therapeutic assets.
  • Collaborate with a diverse team of scientists, engineers, and data scientists to develop and implement computational tools and processes for protein and antibody engineering.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of techniques for in-silico protein structure design using tools such as Rosetta software suite.
  • Work independently to identify project needs and develop solutions, and contribute to the development of our internal pipeline of programs.
Requirements:
  • PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Structural Biology, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field, or a MSc with 5+ years of related experience in a biological research setting.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python, and a comprehensive understanding of techniques for in-silico protein structure design.
  • Working knowledge of antibody structure and function, and familiarity with techniques applicable to the molecular design, engineering, and experimental evaluation of antibody and/or antigen libraries for protein engineering purposes.
  • Awareness of experimental analytic and biophysics techniques used for antibody characterization.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary range of CAD $75,200 - $94,000 annually, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% (non-match) RRSP contribution.
