We are seeking a CIRO (formerly IIROC) Registered financial expert who possesses a deep understanding of Wealth Management and brings a dynamic approach to their role at Canada Life. In this vibrant and performance-oriented setting, you will collaborate with leading mutual fund and segregated fund licensed advisors within our Advisor Solutions distribution channel, providing essential portfolio advisory services to clients and prospects.

As the Investment Services Consultant, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting and communicating the Canada Life Securities Ltd. program to advisors. This involves identifying suitable advisors for the program and planning effective business activities to enhance program visibility through individual meetings, group presentations, and training sessions.
  • Working closely with advisors, their clients, and team members to develop and present comprehensive analyses of client portfolios.
  • Engaging with Advisors and their referred clients or prospects.
  • Designing tax-efficient asset consolidation and liquidation strategies.
  • Regular travel within your designated territory.
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.

In executing these responsibilities, the Investment Services Consultant will:

  • Stay updated with and incorporate third-party securities research into trade advisory services.
  • Integrate financial planning concepts into trade advisory services.
  • Adhere to all external laws, regulatory rules, and internal policies.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid Securities License with CIRO (Formerly IIROC) Investment Dealer Registered Representative category.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in the securities sector, providing client portfolio analysis, account management, and trade advisory.
  • A university degree or equivalent experience.
  • Industry designations such as Canadian Investment Manager (CIM), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), or other relevant credentials are advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft PC software and familiarity with the Dataphile platform is a plus.
  • Current good standing in Continuing Education (CE) credits.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, a strong team service ethic, and excellent presentation and communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  • Able to thrive in a collaborative environment with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.

The base salary for this position ranges from $74,500 to $137,900 annually. This figure represents the base salary only and does not include other variable compensation components of our total rewards package (e.g., annual bonus, commission, etc.).
