The Children's Aid Society of the Districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Child Protection Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Child Welfare services, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to children, youth, and families, ensuring their immediate and ongoing safety.
Key Responsibilities- Case Management: Develop and implement individualized plans to address the unique needs of each family, ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and detailed records of all interactions, contacts, and interventions, as per Ministry standards.
- Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, including service providers, community resources, and other agencies, to ensure a coordinated and effective response to client needs.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training, education, and professional development activities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills, and integrate new evidence-informed practices into daily work.
- Education: Bachelor of Social Work degree (BSW) or degree in Human Services/Studies required. Diploma in Social Work may be considered with a commitment to further education.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in child protection and delivery of child protection services, or 5 years in Child Welfare or Social Work with a diploma.
- Skills and Knowledge: Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English and French, knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and Ministry standards, and demonstrated clinical and counseling skills.
