About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our team. As a Family Support Worker, you will work closely with children and families to provide intensive and customized services, promoting healthy relationships and empowering families to achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to support children and families, focusing on parenting skills, family functioning, and child development.
  • Provide practical assistance, advocacy, and support to families, including crisis management and safety planning.
  • Collaborate with community resources and stakeholders to ensure comprehensive support for families.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify strengths and challenges, informing the development of effective support plans.
  • Provide training and education to families on parenting skills, child development, and community resources.
  • Document and report on family progress, ensuring accurate and timely information for case management and evaluation.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated expertise in child and family development, parenting skills, and family support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with families.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to navigate complex family dynamics.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and Ministry standards, including the Child, Youth and Family Services Act.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues and community partners to achieve shared goals.
