Job Title: Bilingual Family Support Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Family Support Worker to join our team at The Children's Aid Society of the Districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin. As a key member of our team, you will provide intensive and customized services to families, promoting healthy relationships and supporting the well-being of children and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate visits with children and families to assess and enhance parental skills and capacities.
  • Develop and implement safety plans to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
  • Provide practical assistance, advocacy, and support to families to enhance family functioning and prevent the admission of children to care.
  • Collaborate with community service providers and stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting families.
  • Document and report on family progress, changes, and case updates.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated advanced verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and Ministry standards.
  • Good understanding of the agency's values, service philosophy, and objectives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Intersectionality, cultural competency, and clinical practice within an anti-oppression framework.
  • Clinical knowledge of child maltreatment, child development, attachment, and separation.
