Job Title: Bilingual Family Support Worker

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Bilingual Family Support Worker to join our team at The Children's Aid Society of the Districts of Sudbury and Manitoulin. As a key member of our team, you will provide intensive and customized services to families, promoting healthy relationships and supporting the well-being of children and families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to support families in achieving their goals and improving their overall well-being.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to parents and caregivers on effective parenting skills, child development, and family dynamics.
  • Facilitate visits between children and their family members, promoting positive relationships and communication.
  • Assess and address the needs of families, including providing crisis management services and support.
  • Collaborate with community resources and stakeholders to ensure families receive the necessary support and services.
  • Document and report on family progress, changes, and case updates, maintaining confidentiality and adhering to agency policies.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated advanced verbal and written communication skills in both English and French.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and Ministry standards.
  • Good understanding of the agency's values, service philosophy, and objectives.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Intersectionality, cultural competency, and clinical practice within an anti-oppression framework.
  • Clinical knowledge of child maltreatment, child development, attachment, and separation, and family dynamics.
  • Demonstrated clinical counseling skills to provide assessment, engagement, and support services to families and children.
