Job Title: Family Support Worker

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our team. As a Family Support Worker, you will work closely with children and families to provide intensive and customized services, promoting healthy relationships and empowering families to thrive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to support families in achieving their goals and improving their overall well-being.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to parents and caregivers on effective parenting strategies, child development, and family dynamics.
  • Facilitate visits between children and their family members, promoting positive relationships and communication.
  • Assess and address the needs of families, including providing crisis management services and support for families experiencing power imbalances.
  • Collaborate with community resources and stakeholders to ensure families receive comprehensive support and services.
  • Document and report on family progress, ensuring accurate and timely information is shared with relevant parties.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated expertise in child and family development, with a strong understanding of child maltreatment, attachment, and separation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, and Ministry standards, with a commitment to equity, justice, and anti-oppression principles.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Valid Class "G" Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
