Our mission is to partner with Kenyans to uplift orphans and vulnerable children through faith-based, cost-effective, and culturally appropriate homes, fostering a supportive ecosystem for OVCs and their caregivers.

Position Overview:

We are in search of a seasoned and innovative Executive Director/Fundraiser to guide our organization. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in project oversight, operational enhancement, fundraising, and leadership. A profound commitment to our mission is essential.

The Executive Director's primary responsibility is to enhance Governance, Financial Performance, and the Organizational Mission and Strategy. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will implement the Vision of ReACT in both Canada and Kenya, managing local staff and Canadian volunteers and committees. This role includes direct accountability for achieving annual budget targets through effective oversight and leadership of all fundraising initiatives.

  1. Collaborate closely with the Board of Directors to engage them in policy-making, fundraising, and increasing public awareness through strategic initiatives.
  2. Recruit, mentor, and motivate all staff towards the overarching vision of ReACT.
  3. Lead strategic planning, execution, and growth of all programs in Kenya aligned with the Board's vision.
  4. Develop an annual fundraising strategy to enhance the organization's revenue.
  5. Oversee marketing and communication efforts (including social media, newsletters, and media outreach) to strengthen relationships with existing partners and attract new ones.
  6. Assist in organizing Board and committee meetings in accordance with the Annual Calendar.
  7. Work alongside the Kenyan accountant and management team to establish employment and administrative policies for all operations.
  8. Manage the day-to-day operations of ReACT in Canada.
  9. Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations, including CRA and KRA requirements.
  10. Review and approve monthly financial reports, ensuring timely transfer of funds according to the approved budgets.
  11. Travel to Kenya at least once a year.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  1. A bachelor's degree or higher.
  2. Integrity, humility, and strong character as a proven leader.
  3. A robust work ethic and high energy levels.
  4. Exceptional public speaking skills.
  5. A personal relationship with Jesus that inspires their commitment to Biblical justice.
  6. A minimum of five years in a nonprofit leadership role.
  7. Experience collaborating with a Board of Directors.
  8. Active fundraising experience with strong donor relations skills and a comprehensive understanding of the nonprofit sector, demonstrating the ability to raise over $100,000 annually.
  9. A track record of generating new revenue streams and enhancing financial outcomes.
  10. Ability to effectively communicate ReACT's mission to partners, volunteers, and the broader community.
  11. A willingness to engage in personal development through personality assessments.
  12. Strong strategic thinking and planning capabilities, with the ability to convey ReACT's strategic vision to Kenyan staff in a culturally sensitive manner.
  13. Proficient verbal and written communication skills in a diverse cultural environment.

This position may be part-time or full-time, with some hours required during evenings and weekends for special projects.

Compensation: The Executive Director role offers a competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $21.00-$36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
