Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cement Finishing Specialist to join our team at Rosendo Silva Barboza. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in concrete finishing and be able to deliver high-quality results in various settings.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in cement finishing.
Work Environment

The role involves working in challenging conditions, including:

  • Dusty and noisy environments
  • Heights, scaffolding, and swing stages
  • Outdoor settings, often wet or damp
Responsibilities

The Cement Finishing Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Filling hollows and removing imperfections on freshly poured concrete.
  • Operating power vibrators to compact concrete effectively.
  • Leveling the top surface of concrete according to specified grades and depths.
  • Applying desired finishes to concrete surfaces using both hand and power tools.
  • Instructing apprentices and providing guidance on best practices.
  • Applying hardening and sealing components to ensure proper curing of surfaces.
  • Repairing, resurfacing, and replacing damaged sections of concrete structures.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, maps, and specifications.
Certifications

Applicants must possess:

  • Cement Finisher Trade Certification.
Safety and Transportation

Safety is paramount; candidates must be:

  • Bondable and possess their own transportation.
Physical Requirements

This position is physically demanding and requires:

  • Handling heavy loads.
  • Bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Attention to detail and standing for extended periods.
Tools and Equipment

Applicants should have their own tools and safety equipment, including:

  • Steel-toed safety boots
  • Hard hat
  • Safety glasses/goggles
  • Ear plugs
  • Gloves
