Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cement Finishing Specialist to join our team at Rosendo Silva Barboza. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cement finishing and be able to work effectively in various environments.

Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in cement finishing.
Work Environment
  • Exposure to dusty, noisy, and potentially dangerous conditions.
  • Work will be conducted outdoors and may involve wet or damp surfaces.
  • Tasks may require working at heights, utilizing scaffolding or swing stages.
Key Responsibilities
  • Fill hollows and eliminate imperfections on freshly poured cement.
  • Operate power vibrators to ensure proper compaction of concrete.
  • Level the top surface of concrete in accordance with specified grades and depths.
  • Apply desired finishes to concrete surfaces using both hand and power tools.
  • Instruct and guide apprentices in cement finishing techniques.
  • Apply hardening and sealing agents to cure surfaces effectively.
  • Repair, resurface, and replace sections of concrete structures as needed.
  • Interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications accurately.
Certifications
  • Cement Finisher Trade Certification is required.
Safety and Security
  • Must be bondable and adhere to safety protocols.
Transportation
  • Own transportation is necessary for commuting to various job sites.
Physical Requirements
  • Position is physically demanding, requiring the ability to handle heavy loads.
  • Must be comfortable bending, crouching, and kneeling.
  • Attention to detail is crucial, along with the ability to stand for extended periods.
Tools and Equipment
  • Must provide own tools and safety equipment, including steel-toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, and gloves.
