Project Director Job Description

Forge Performance Group is a leading Recruitment & Talent Management solutions team based in Calgary, AB. We are dedicated to connecting our clients with highly skilled professionals who match their unique hiring needs, culture, and goals.

Role Summary

The Project Director plays a critical role in consolidating and growing our business, supporting operations from inception to delivery. This involves driving efficiencies, directing business optimization, and improving overall organization performance. The Project Director also supports the estimating team during the proposal stage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Strategy and Oversight: Develop and oversee major construction projects, providing guidance and support to project and construction management teams. Set project strategy and success metrics, and manage all aspects of a construction project.
  • Problem-Solving and Team Leadership: Foster close relationships with workers, promoting team unity and resulting in the completion of successful and profitable projects. Ensure that lessons learned and best practices from previous completed projects are implemented.
  • Client Liaison and Business Development: Serve as the principal liaison to clients' senior management, maintaining regular and appropriate relations with their representatives. Support Company business development initiatives, vision, and strategy.
  • Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality: Adhere to Company's core values, ensuring an inclusive workplace and operating in accordance with Company health and safety, environment, quality, efficiency standards and practices.
Position Requirements
  • Qualifications: Engineering degree (Mechanical, Civil/Structural), or graduate of an applicable technical diploma program, and/or a combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years in an oil & gas construction project management or project supervision role or large-scale construction experience. 5-8 years working experience in a managerial role with a proven track record of successful project delivery.

Skills and Knowledge: Understanding of the oil and gas pipeline & industrial construction industry and familiarity with relevant construction and safety codes, standards, and practices.
