Role Overview

The Project Manager is tasked with overseeing the daily operations of construction projects. This role requires adherence to industry standards, safety regulations, and the internal policies of Taggart Group. The Project Manager is expected to ensure quality interactions with all stakeholders, including employees, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, aligning with the company's mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and manage project scopes effectively.
  • Develop and monitor project schedules.
  • Evaluate project estimates, contracts, and specifications.
  • Create comprehensive budgets and timelines, establishing key milestones.
  • Maintain relationships with contractors and subcontractors.
  • Lead and train on-site teams to adhere to project timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with safety obligations and communicate requirements effectively.
  • Provide regular updates on project status to stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with various teams to prepare detailed project reports.
  • Manage procurement processes for construction materials.
  • Review and approve project-related financial documents.
  • Facilitate project meetings and mentor junior staff.
  • Identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
  • Prepare necessary documentation for project approvals.
  • Perform additional duties as required by project demands.

Qualifications and Skills

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred.
  • Gold Seal Certification is an asset.
  • A minimum of five to eight years of experience in project management within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods and processes.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of construction laws and building codes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Work Environment

  • Work may involve challenging conditions, requiring both indoor and outdoor activities.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines across various departments.
