About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Investment Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our investment portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational support for various investment activities, including trade execution, settlement, and reconciliation.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to investments, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as portfolio managers and analysts, to resolve operational issues and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the investment operations function.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in an investment operations role, preferably within a financial institution or asset management firm.
  • Strong understanding of investment products and markets, including equities, fixed income, and alternative investments.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard systems and platforms, such as EDM, Charles River, and SimCorp.
  • Deep understanding of database technology and concepts.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, confident, innovative, and a team player.
  • Canadian Securities Course or a relevant designation (CFA, CPA, FRM) is an asset.
