Key Responsibilities- Global Trade Settlement: Resolve global trade settlement issues for institutional client accounts and pooled funds across 25+ countries and 14+ currencies.
- Daily Reconciliations: Perform daily reconciliations of global investment transactions and positions, ensuring accuracy and promptly resolving discrepancies.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with portfolio managers, traders, custodians, clients, prime brokers, and fund administrators to resolve complex trade discrepancies and operational issues.
- Corporate Actions: Analyze, record, and monitor corporate actions to maintain an accurate record of positions and facilitate decisions by portfolio managers.
- Reporting: Prepare and distribute daily, monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad-hoc reports to institutional clients and internal stakeholders, including reports related to investment activities, performance, compliance, accounting, and regulatory requirements.
- Net Asset Values: Support the delivery of accurate net asset values for our pooled funds by the fund administrator.
- Process Improvement: Demonstrate an innovative and proactive approach by highlighting inefficiencies, risk, and implementing improvements to streamline our processes.
- Implementation and Testing: Support the implementation and testing of new operational systems and technologies, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in investment operations within a financial services firm or asset management company.
- Education: Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and drive results in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of industry standards and best practices related to investment operations, custody, clearing, and settlements. Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and adeptness at problem-solving.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with external service providers.
- Certifications: Completion of the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or equivalent.
- Derivatives Knowledge: Understanding of the trade lifecycle of derivatives – listed options, futures, and FX forwards.
- Fund Accounting: Familiarity with fund accounting and performance measurement.
- Software Experience: Experience with Confluence Portfolio Accounting software and Bloomberg.
