Position Overview:

The role of a Housekeeping Aide is essential in maintaining the comfort and well-being of residents within our community. This position is pivotal in fostering a clean and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Housekeeping Aide, your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring the cleanliness and orderliness of residents' living spaces, communal areas, and administrative offices. This includes thorough cleaning of furniture, windows, floors, and washrooms.
  • Executing various cleaning tasks such as routine, deep, and terminal cleaning, along with floor maintenance and waste disposal, adhering to established schedules.
  • Upholding a hygienic and safe atmosphere for residents by applying infection control measures.
  • Verifying that cleaning supplies are adequately stocked and that all equipment is functioning properly before starting your daily tasks.
  • Collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team while performing your duties in a professional manner.
  • Completing additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:

  • A high school diploma or an equivalent qualification.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols, cleaning methodologies, and housekeeping practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check and a Criminal Records Check, as applicable.

Preferred Experience:

While not mandatory, candidates with prior experience in institutional cleaning or laundry services within a long-term care setting will be given preference.
