Overview:
The Environmental Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for all residents, family members, visitors, and staff. This position reports directly to the Administrator or Assistant Administrator and is pivotal in adhering to relevant regulations and standards as outlined in the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and assess the Environmental Services to ensure alignment with the Program and Services objectives.
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate the operational activities within the housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance sectors.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, inspections, and investigations concerning housekeeping and laundry services.
- Collaborate with service providers regarding budgets, procurement, and replacement of supplies and equipment as per the Mon Sheong inventory guidelines.
- Actively participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee, Emergency Planning, and Fire Prevention initiatives.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the Fixing Long Term Care Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other relevant federal, provincial, and municipal regulations affecting long-term care operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) protocols, including proper cleaning procedures, laundry handling, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Monitor staff productivity and implement strategies to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency.
Additional Duties:
Undertake any other responsibilities as assigned by the Administrator.
Required Qualifications:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma.
- Familiarity with best practices related to housekeeping, laundry, waste management, and maintenance.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Knowledge of Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) protocols relevant to Environmental Services.
- Experience collaborating with service providers is considered an asset.
