Overview:
The Environmental Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment for residents, families, visitors, and staff. This position is essential in adhering to the standards and regulations set forth in the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and assess the Environmental Services to ensure alignment with the Program and Services objectives.
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate the operational activities within the housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance sectors.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, inspections, and inquiries regarding housekeeping and laundry operations.
- Collaborate with service providers concerning budgets, procurement, and replacement of supplies and equipment as per the Mon Sheong inventory guidelines.
- Actively participate in the Joint Health and Safety Committee, Emergency Preparedness, and Fire Safety Programs.
- Maintain knowledge of the Fixing Long Term Care Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, and other pertinent federal, provincial, and municipal regulations affecting Long Term Care operations.
- Ensure strict adherence to Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) protocols, particularly in cleaning processes, laundry handling, and personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
- Monitor staff productivity and implement strategies to enhance service delivery and efficiency.
Additional Duties:
Undertake any other responsibilities as assigned by the Administrator.
Required Qualifications:
- A post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field.
- Familiarity with best practices related to housekeeping, laundry, waste management, and maintenance.
- A minimum of two years of experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Experience with Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) protocols relevant to Environmental Services.
- Previous experience working with service providers is considered an asset.
