Job Summary

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Aquatic Supervisor Student to join our team. As a key member of our aquatic staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our aquatic programs and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and manage aquatic programs and services in accordance with Municipality of Chatham-Kent policies and procedures.
  • Lead a team of aquatic staff and provide guidance and support to ensure excellent customer service and a safe and enjoyable experience for patrons.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for aquatic staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Manage and maintain aquatic facilities and equipment to ensure they are in good working order.
  • Provide instruction and guidance to patrons on aquatic programs and services.
  • Enforce pool rules and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of aquatic programs and services to meet the needs of our community.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure a seamless and efficient delivery of services.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field an asset.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a pool setting, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Current certifications in Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor, Standard First Aid with CPR 'C', and National Lifeguard – Pool or Red Cross Pool Lifeguard.
  • High Five: Principles of Healthy Child Development certification an asset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide excellent customer service.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
