Editorial Support Specialist

To enhance our Editorial team, we are seeking recent graduates who are passionate about remaining engaged with scientific research by assisting researchers globally in publishing their latest findings. This is a full-time, in-office, entry-level, and permanent position.

As an Editorial Support Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating the editorial workflow for academic journals within your area of expertise;
  • Coordinating the peer review process for submitted articles and managing editorial decisions;
  • Managing communication via email among all parties involved in the publication process;
  • Collaborating with fellow editorial and production team members;
  • Ensuring that scholarly articles are meticulously edited and published according to strict deadlines with a high level of accuracy.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant discipline, such as:
    • Environmental sciences, materials sciences, mechanical engineering, physics, occupational health;
    • Chemistry, biochemistry, biology, molecular biology, oncology, health sciences, nutrition, food sciences, pharmaceutical science.
    • A PhD in any of the aforementioned fields is advantageous.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English;
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • A collaborative team player capable of thriving in a dynamic, international setting;
  • Detail-oriented with an ability to maintain a broader perspective;
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities;
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills;
  • Prior experience in scholarly publishing is a plus;
  • Experience in creating presentations and writing is beneficial.

As a successful candidate, you will undergo comprehensive training in editorial practices, working closely with Managing Editors and learning how to navigate the publication process from submission to final publication. Training will be conducted on the job during the initial months, guided by an assigned mentor. Depending on your academic background, you will be allocated to journals relevant to your field of study or research. While prior editorial experience is not mandatory, familiarity with the academic editorial process is a plus.
