As an Editorial Support Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Facilitating the editorial workflow for academic journals within your area of expertise;
  • Managing the peer review process for submitted articles and coordinating editorial decisions;
  • Overseeing communication between all parties involved in the publication process;
  • Collaborating with fellow editorial and production team members;
  • Ensuring scholarly articles are meticulously edited and published in accordance with strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of consistency.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant discipline, including:
    • Environmental sciences, materials sciences, mechanical engineering, physics, occupational health;
    • Chemistry, biochemistry, biology, molecular biology, oncology, health sciences, nutrition, food sciences, pharmaceutical science.
    • A PhD in any of the aforementioned fields is advantageous.
  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills;
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
  • A collaborative team player capable of thriving in a dynamic, international setting;
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to grasp the overarching objectives;
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities;
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills;
  • Previous experience in scholarly publishing is a plus;
  • Experience in presentation creation and writing is beneficial.

As a successful candidate, you will undergo comprehensive training in editorial tasks, working closely with Managing Editors and learning the process of transforming research articles from submission to publication. This training will be supervised by an assigned mentor during the initial months. Depending on your background, you will be allocated to journals pertinent to your field of study or research. While prior editorial experience is not mandatory, familiarity with the academic editorial process is considered an asset.
