Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a key member of our safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement health and safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational standards.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize hazards and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders and staff to identify and address health and safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide training and education to staff on health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in health and safety, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
