Job Summary

Northern Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled Regional Manager, Quality and Safety to join our team. This is a key leadership role that will play a crucial part in fostering a culture of continuous improvement in patient safety and quality across our organization.

The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in a health-related field and significant experience in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety, including progressive management experience. They will be able to establish and maintain good working relationships with others and manage conflict effectively to successfully coordinate the work.

Key responsibilities will include leading process redesign and workflow analysis using continuous improvement methodology, as well as developing and implementing strategies to improve overall quality and patient safety in a measurable way. The Regional Manager will also build and maintain relationships with counterparts across BC's health authorities and Northern Health's Executive.

Requirements

Master's degree in a health-related field, and education preparation in quality improvement and patient safety
Five (5) to seven (7) years' experience in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety including progressive management experience
Knowledge and understanding of The Canadian Quality & Patient Safety Framework and Accreditation Canada's Q'Mentum program are preferred

Skills and Abilities

Demonstrated change management and project management experience in a complex system
Proven track record with leading process redesign/workflow analysis using continuous improvement methodology
Broad knowledge of the business process management principles, practices and methods affecting an organization, program planning, evaluation and monitoring, principles and application of financial management, and research methods and techniques
Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with others and manage conflict effectively to successfully coordinate the work
Strong work and professional ethics
Demonstrated ability to bring together multiple stakeholders and effectively manage diverse and sometimes competing interests
Demonstrated analytical problem solving to develop strategic, progressive, creative, and innovative enterprise-wide solutions
Ability to make decisions, work well under pressure and meet deadlines in an environment subject to constantly changing priorities
Demonstrated leadership skills, including leading people with integrity and trust, building a team environment, communicating clearly, fostering potential, leading with vision, inspiring and engaging others, promoting innovation, managing resources, and showing situational awareness
Demonstrated ability to use word processing, spreadsheet, database, graphical layout, presentation, and project and change management applications
Demonstrated ability to create and execute strategic plans and to organize and prioritize work
Demonstrated ability to learn new skills, and commitment to on-going professional development to supplement core business knowledge in relevant topic areas through academic and informal channels
Superior oral and written communication skills to present and prepare concise analyses, reports and recommendations to multidisciplinary audiences, and consult individuals internal to the organization
Ability to adapt and remain flexible to meet changing priorities and resource constraints
