We are a dynamic and multi-generational family of believers with a strong focus on prayer, worship, and community service. Our church is known for its warm and welcoming atmosphere, and we strive to create a safe and nurturing environment for children and families to grow in their faith.

We are seeking an experienced and creative Director of Children's Ministries who can develop and implement engaging programs for children in grades 2-5. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in children's ministry, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a passion for teaching and mentoring children and families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver all aspects of the children's program, including curriculum, activities, and events.
  • Lead and supervise a team of small group leaders, volunteers, and staff in the children's program.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and kid-friendly environment that promotes learning and growth in faith.
  • Manage resources, supplies, and rooms to support the children's program.
  • Build relationships with parents, guardians, volunteers, and children in the program, and seek out new families to connect them to the ministries of Willingdon Church.
  • Collaborate with the Children's Ministry Team Leader to plan and execute special events, such as Daycamp, Under the Big Top, and Family Christmas Breakfast.
  • Stay current on children's ministry best practices and changes in the wider church globally.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in theology or education.
  • Children's ministry leadership experience.
  • Pastoral care skills and experience working with children.
  • Experience in ministry program development and hands-on implementation.
  • Demonstrated financial responsibility with budgeting and management of resources.
  • A clear call to ministry to families and children.
