Job Summary

CB Canada is seeking a highly skilled Commissioning Supervisor to join our team in the renewable energy sector. As a Commissioning Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful commissioning and start-up of utility-scale wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commissioning Support: Provide technical support to the Commissioning Manager in preparing detailed schedules of commissioning and start-up activities, ensuring compliance with project schedules, safety procedures, and quality standards.
  • Plan Development: Assist in the preparation of detailed plans for assembly and commissioning, in accordance with existing basic project plans.
  • Procedure Development: Collaborate with the Commissioning Manager to prepare and document commissioning and energization procedures, including Permit to Work and Isolation Certificates when required.
  • Team Coordination: Facilitate technical coordination within the team, comprising Owner and contractor personnel.
  • Equipment Inspection: Conduct visual inspections and functional testing of equipment and assembled systems prior to commissioning tests, including reliability, performance, and grid compliance tests.
  • Documentation Management: Support the Commissioning Manager in managing the list of required documentation for commissioning, including as-built and final documentation, for handover to Operation and Maintenance Units and official applications for production incentives.
  • Test Supervision: Supervise tests related to the commissioning of high, medium, and low-voltage equipment/electrical systems, in accordance with regulations for generators, power transformers, substations, low and medium voltage motors, control panels, and distribution, power electronics equipment (rectifiers and inverters), and batteries connected to them, calibration of protection relays, SCADA (and all connected systems, i.e., Local Control Room, TSO Control Room, PI), WTGs, CUs, and general machinery of the plant.
  • Reporting: Provide commissioning activities reporting on a daily and weekly basis, in accordance with Enel commissioning standards, with all reports delivered to the Enel Commissioning Manager/Leader referent for the project.
Requirements
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, with demonstrated work experience providing high-level engineering support in the power generation industry.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of bench test instruments and test methodologies, knowledge of machineries, equipment, and appliances used within the commissioning sector, good knowledge of grid requirements for energization, synchronization, and operation of renewable power plants, good knowledge of SCADA and communication protocols used within the commissioning sector, good knowledge of electrical safety standards and construction safety and environmental management, good knowledge of the logic of electrical equipment protection (protection logic of electrical machinery) and related instrumentation, and experience using Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS-Project.
