Lead Commissioning Specialist

CB Canada is seeking a Commissioning Supervisor to join our dynamic team in the Oil and Gas sector. This role involves overseeing commissioning activities and ensuring compliance with project timelines and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Commissioning Manager in the execution of commissioning for large-scale renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, hydro, and geothermal.
  • Contribute to the development of detailed commissioning schedules and plans in alignment with project objectives.
  • Document and prepare commissioning procedures, including necessary permits and isolation certificates.
  • Facilitate technical coordination among project stakeholders, including owners and contractors.
  • Conduct visual inspections and functional tests of equipment and systems prior to formal commissioning tests.
  • Manage documentation related to commissioning processes for handover to Operations and Maintenance Units.
  • Supervise testing of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring adherence to industry regulations.
  • Prepare and submit regular commissioning reports in accordance with established standards.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is preferred, with relevant experience in power generation.
  • Familiarity with testing instruments and methodologies.
  • Understanding of machinery and equipment used in commissioning.
  • Knowledge of grid requirements for energization and operation of renewable energy facilities.
  • Proficiency in SCADA systems and communication protocols.
  • Awareness of electrical safety standards and environmental management practices.
  • Experience with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
