About the Role

The York Catholic District School Board is seeking a highly qualified and inspirational leader to fill the position of Director of Education and Foundation Chair. This is a pivotal role that requires a faith-filled Catholic leader with a strong commitment to Gospel values and a high level of personal integrity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the process of establishing a Board Foundation, working with Trustees and the Senior Team to define the Mission and Vision of the Foundation.
  • Work with legal counsel to create bylaws and apply for charitable registration status.
  • Implement the Board's Multi-Year Strategic Plan, enhancing diversity, inclusion, and equity initiatives.
  • Model and guide the transformation in learning/instruction, managing a highly complex and diverse organization.
  • Foster interdependent relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Qualifications and Attributes
  • A minimum Master's level education and post-graduate work, doctorate or similar and relevant certifications.
  • Demonstrated commitment to on-going learning and personal development.
  • Participation/leadership in public speaking and thought leadership.
  • A track record of success in education, including knowledge and experience in teaching and/or administration in both Elementary and Secondary panels.
  • Meets Ministry criteria in terms of qualifications as Supervisory Officer under the Education Act and/or Minister's confirmation that the person to be appointed is eligible for the position.
