Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and driven professional to enhance our tax services division. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring our clients' tax compliance is thoroughly managed while identifying strategic tax planning opportunities. This position offers a dynamic environment for career growth within a collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and validate tax filings (including T1, T2, T3, and T5013 returns) prepared by team members to ensure comprehensive coverage of all tax-related matters.
- Provide expert tax planning services tailored to client needs.
- Conduct research on tax issues and prepare detailed memoranda.
- Identify and pursue client service enhancement opportunities.
- Engage in special projects as required.
- Foster and develop community relationships and networks.
- Supervise and mentor staff within the tax group, offering guidance and support to enhance their tax knowledge.
- Prepare and deliver technical training sessions for team members.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in public accounting with a focus on taxation, along with a recognized professional designation.
- Completion or progress towards the CICA In-depth tax course.
- Strong technical knowledge of Canadian tax regulations.
- Proven ability to deliver value-added services to clients.
- Familiarity with GAAP requirements related to tax provisions.
- Proficiency in software tools such as Caseware and Taxprep.
- Strong understanding of client-focused service delivery, including adherence to deadlines.
- Excellent judgment in handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- A strong work ethic with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
