About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tax Manager to join our team at Mccay Duff LLP. As a Tax Manager, you will play a key role in providing exceptional client service and ensuring the tax planning and compliance needs of our clients are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Tax Compliance: Work closely with our team to oversee complex tax returns and tax provision engagements, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Supervise and Mentor: Supervise and mentor staff, reviewing tax files to ensure our high standards are met.
  • Advise on Tax Planning: Advise clients on planning opportunities, tax minimization strategies, and compliance issues.
  • Conduct Tax Research: Conduct and document tax research to support client needs.
  • Lead Tax Engagement Teams: Lead tax engagement teams in serving the tax needs of clients.
  • Enhance Technical Skills: Stay up-to-date on tax trends, legislative developments, and tax authority decisions, applying them to complex situations.
  • Identify Business Opportunities: Identify opportunities for providing tax planning and other special services, contributing to thought leadership materials.
  • Prepare Tax Memorandums: Prepare tax memorandums to support client needs.
  • Interpret Tax Legislation: Interpret and apply tax legislation to support client needs.
  • Manage Multiple Engagements: Manage multiple engagements concurrently, applying sound project management principles.
  • Maintain Client Relationships: Maintain and develop meaningful relationships with assigned clients.
  • Participate in Business Development: Participate actively in business development activities to recognize and seize business opportunities.
  • Develop Firm Policies: Participate on committees in developing and implementing Firm management policies and professional standards.
  • Provide Value-Added Consulting: Provide value-added consulting solutions to clients on current business and financial matters.
  • Conduct Pre-Engagement Work Planning: Conduct pre-engagement work planning with the engagement team.
  • Conduct Presentations and Training: Conduct internal and/or external presentations and training related to area of expertise.
  • Coach Staff Members: Coach staff members and conduct performance evaluations.
Qualifications
  • Manager: A minimum of two years' experience in corporate tax research, consulting, and compliance in a professional services firm.
  • Senior Manager: A minimum of seven years' experience in corporate tax research, consulting, and compliance in a professional services firm, with a minimum of two years at the manager experience level.
  • CPA In-Depth Tax Course: Completion of the CPA In-depth Tax Course, Parts I and II.
  • Strong Focus on Tax Planning: A strong focus on tax planning.
  • Demonstrated Experience in Business Development and Management: Demonstrated experience in business development and management.
  • Team Player: A team player able to rally resources and work with others to meet the needs of the client.
  • Commitment to Professional and Client Service Excellence: A strong commitment to professional and client service excellence.
  • Interest in Coaching and Development: A strong interest in coaching and development, with a commitment to personal growth.
  • Proven Ability to Deliver Project Management Accountabilities: Proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management accountabilities.
