Position Overview:
We are in search of a dedicated and experienced professional to enhance our tax services division. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in delivering outstanding client service, ensuring comprehensive compliance with tax regulations, identifying planning opportunities, and addressing complex tax-related challenges. Our tax team offers a dynamic environment for career advancement, emphasizing collaboration and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough reviews of tax filings (including T1, T2, T3, and T5013 returns) prepared by team members to ensure all tax matters are accurately addressed.
- Provide strategic tax planning services to clients.
- Investigate tax issues and draft detailed memoranda.
- Recognize and pursue client service opportunities.
- Engage in special projects and initiatives.
- Foster and develop community relationships and networks.
- Supervise and mentor staff within the tax group, offering daily guidance and support.
- Prepare and deliver technical training sessions for team members.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in public accounting with a focus on taxation, complemented by a professional designation.
- Completion or progress towards the CICA In-depth tax course.
- Strong technical expertise in Canadian tax matters.
- Proven ability to deliver value-added services to clients.
- Comprehensive understanding of GAAP requirements related to tax provisions.
- Proficiency in relevant software, including Caseware and Taxprep.
- Familiarity with a client-focused environment, adept at meeting deadlines.
- Discretion and sound judgment in handling confidential information.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
