Project Controls Specialist Job Description

At 09 Irving Oil Limited, we are seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accumulate and compile accurate cost management data on a monthly basis to prepare the project report and update the progress of the project.
  • Aid in development of cost control/scheduling procedures, execution plan, and business plan for a project.
  • Provide accurate monthly forecasts on all projects, identifying trends and make recommendations for corrective courses of action.
  • Participate in weekly project cost reviews/schedule meetings.
  • Participate in Project Kickoffs and ongoing status meetings.
  • Participate and engage in monthly reviews with key vendors.
  • In conjunction with Project Management, develop and implement a change management system for engineering and construction.
  • Maintain the established project cost/schedule program and provide updates for schedules as required.
  • Provide meaningful, accurate historical data and documentation.
  • Aid in development of progress tracking and implementation.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • 5 years relevant experience or equivalent business-related work experience.
  • Strong in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft products.
  • Software experience in Oracle, IBM Cognos analytics, or TM1 is an asset.
  • Software experience in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project is an asset.
